Third year music student and clarinet player, Lucy Irving, embarked on a tour to Paris with Durham University Palatinate Orchestra (DUPO) this June. This was supported by the St John’s Student Opportunities Fund.
Saltmarshes are important stores of ‘Blue Carbon’ and therefore a crucial part of the fight against climate change. Thanks to a St John’s Student Opportunities Fund grant, Rosie Adams was able to investigate these marshes in the Netherlands.
In October 1960, we were thirty-five young men who met for the first time in the Junior Common Room at St John’s, Durham. Little did we know what an important part we would play in each other’s lives, staying in touch as individual friends over the following years. In 1993, Richard Graham (previously Feek) ‘activated’ this network and we held our first alumni reunion at St John’s – thirty years after our graduation.
