John’s Chronicle launches print edition

Luca Hughes Joshi introduces the first ever John’s Chronicle print edition, available to collect around college NOW!

Think print journalism is dying? Think again. Buoyed by the contributions of our editorial board members, as well as the illustrative ingenuity of Hayleigh McLean and Carly Tait, John’s Chronicle has produced a 32-page masterpiece, featuring a plethora of articles from The Chronicle’s best and brightest. And Toby and Dan as well.

From Grant Kuppenheimer’s investigation into the demise of Johns’ former toastie bar (p6-7), Ollie Cochran’s recount of his experiences as a thespian in Durham (p16-17), to Callum Hynd going “backstage” to discover the ins and outs of catering at John’s (p22-23), our print edition has something for everyone. Don’t like reading? No problem! Browse through and enjoy the vast quantity of illustrious images and illustrations that are featured.

The hard work of all our editors and illustrators must be lauded, but special kudos should be given to editors Toby Donegan-Cross and Dan Bavister, who spent countless hours coordinating the design and content, and without whom we would not have been able to deliver this edition so successfully.

A great milestone to reach, the print edition could not have been possible without the help of our fantastic editors, contributors, illustrators, and of course college staff

Toby said “The print edition is the fruit first of much hard work from the John’s Chronicle editorial board, a terrific bunch; talented, industrious and a joy to work with. It was so improved by the contributions of our two illustrators as well as the support of College staff, especially Sally Jackson, George Connolly and Rebecca Bouveng. We hope members of Johns, past and present, will find it worth reading and consistent with the best of St John’s College.”

Dan highlighted that “Creating the print edition has been a highlight that our team has been working towards this academic year. A great milestone to reach, the print edition could not have been possible without the help of our fantastic editors, contributors, illustrators, and of course college staff. To share these stories with the community we serve emphasises how important The John’s Chronicle is to everything we hope to embody as a college. Long may it continue.”

As if I haven’t bigged the print edition up enough, it’s completely free to read and editions will be available throughout John’s to pick up, browse, and immerse yourself in our high-calibre content. What are you waiting for? Take a trip into college and pick up a copy today!
